Disability Support Worker. Part Time - Carlton

About the Role

We are looking for people who are dedicated, values oriented, and people focused. Specifically, someone who has demonstrated success managing challenging behaviours and complex physical needs. We are also willing to invest in your skills and career development. This means we are happy to provide you with specialist training to become the best support worker possible.

To continue improving the lives of the people we support, we ask our applicants to be available for a variety of shift work across a 24/7 roster (20 hours a week); this includes active nights and weekends. This availability enables us to deliver a service that will encourage our clients in Carlton to thrive.

Key Responsibilities

• Follow individual support plans, behaviour support plans and health care plans
• Participate in community activities within a Supported Independent Living environment
• Maintain and monitor a client’s person-centred support plan
• Identify and support a range of learning opportunities for our clients
• Track and document an individual’s progress through thorough note keeping

Skills & Experience

• Certificate III in Disability, Community Welfare or similar
• A current First Aid Certificate
• An unrestricted NSW Driver’s Licence
• The ability to work flexibly around a 24/7 roster, including active night shifts
• The confidence to maintain service user privacy and confidentiality
• Demonstrated commitment to supporting and engaging with low and high support clients
• Strong communication skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships

Successful candidates will be required to clear all state-based probity checks including but not limited to a National Criminal History Record Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
