About the role

We are looking for experienced Disability Support Workers to support young clients with NDIS plans who are part of our Child, Youth & Family, Out of Home Care Services across the Perth Metro.

The successful applicant will support young people who live with Foster Carers and may need support in the mornings/afternoons and weekends. We are looking for support workers who have experience supporting children with disabilities.

We have clients across the Perth Metro (from Two Rocks to Mandurah) and will aim to match clients with Disability's Support Workers within the same area/suitable driving distance. 

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Support in day to day living; taking the client to appointments and school, assisted feeding, personal care, medication administration 
  • Promote and assist the client to achieve goals identified in Person Centred Plans
  • Assist to develop independence 
  • Utilise positive behaviour strategies
  • Maintenance of progress notes and record keeping

Skills & Experience

  • Certificate III in Community Services and/or child related qualification or willingness to complete
  • Experience working with children with disability (mandatory) 
  • Experience working with children in foster care (beneficial) 
  • Competent computer skills to complete online training
  • A current Senior First Aid Certificate (HLTAID001 and HLTAID003)
  • A current unrestricted Driver Licence and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Working with Children Card
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate
  • NDIS Screening Check 

Successful candidates will be required to clear National Probity Checks and LWB background checks.
