About the role:

As a Quality Improvement Lead within Home and Community Care you will be responsible for collaborating with the Practice and Quality Stream to lead the implementation of quality management systems, frameworks and practice within Ageing. This role has a focus on leading the clinical team in the development of new complex care and chronic health frameworks while also providing support, guidance and mentorship to ensure our clinical staff are set up for success. This role is a 2 year closed period contract until April 2023. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead and facilitate local implementation of stream wide quality management strategies, initiatives and plans in collaboration with the wider Ageing streams
  • Provide clinical supervisions, guidance and mentorship to the senior clinical team  
  • Enable local management and their teams to implement effective quality improvement activities
  • Lead the provision of specialist advice at the local level in clinical governance and quality
  • Provide efficient and effective management of the local Quality Improvement team
  • Oversee the performance of Quality Improvement Specialist and develop the capability of team members through coaching and mentoring
  • Understand and apply changes to the Aged Care industry in an environment of rapid growth and diversity

About you:

  • Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
  • Certification with relevant standard and accreditation body
  • 5 of more years experience in a similar role and 2 or more years experience supervising a small team of specialists
  • Significant experience in leading and influencing people through change
  • Demonstrated experience in providing advice into complaints management and clinical investigations
  • High level understanding of contemporary approaches to quality management in the health and/or aged care industry
  • Skilled at navigating a complex organisation, forging relationships, and managing through influence rather than direct authority as required
