About the role:

As a Community Development Specialist within Home and Community Care you would be responsible for driving the growth of community care services by developing strong relationships with key sector colleagues and networks, consumer groups and local communities and internal streams in Uniting. You will also be responsible for identifying new service models and opportunities through service development, client pathways and local networks. 

This is a full time, 18 month closed period contract position based in Parramatta CBD. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Identify and develop opportunities for the growth of Community Services 
  • Develop local partnerships, relationships with community and ways to engage clients 
  • Identify opportunities to provide services across the continuum in collaboration with the Managers across Community Care
  • Seek opportunities to develop and partner with Uniting strategic stream for social justice initiative and services to meet the needs of disadvantaged people and communities 

About you:

  • Qualifications in social science, management, aged care or health care related fields 
  • 5 years experience within the aged care/social welfare sector 
  • Demonstrated experience forming and sustaining effective community partnerships that enhance service development
  • Demonstrated experience working in a business development role in the community, aged care or broader health care sector 
  • Through understanding of the Community Care Sector including client types and key stakeholders 
  • Skilled at navigating a complex organisation and forging relationships
