Product Owner

The ANZ Responsible Lending Tribe manages cross product delivery of large scale regulatory/compliance related changes and initiatives. Our mission is to help our Australia product businesses achieve their goals by providing the right solutions when it comes to implementing large scale regulatory and compliance changes across the processes and systems they rely on. The Responsible Lending Tribe is also home to specific product support teams that specialise in process engineering and risk management respectively. We have a great culture of collaboration, delivery and fun, supported by an approachable and inspiring leadership team. In joining this Tribe, you will be working with highly engaged and diverse people.

As a Product Owner your role will be to enable and inspire a multi-disciplinary team to deliver on our Broker Standardised Statement of Position (BSSOP) program. This role is a key leadership role within the program and will be responsible for contributing and uplifting the squad’s capability and culture.

Our BSSOP program aims to:

  • Digitise customer data to reduce number of documents to triage during a home loan application via our broker channel
  • Automate income and expense verification to provide greater customer confidence of pre-qualification and build a faster time to yes
  • Reduce rework of application through pre-verification of income & expenses and increase first touch approvals for our brokers
  • Improve E2E journey for our brokers

As a Product Owner you will guide 'what' work should be completed by the BSSOP squad. You will be constantly prioritising tasks and managing the squad’s backlog with the end customer & the broker at the heart of decision making.  You will also ensure that the work is strategically aligned to the tribe mission and manage interdependencies.

Who are you?

  • A team player – You know we only win if we all win. You recognise and value the different perspectives and skills your colleagues bring. It is not about being a hero but jumping in and contributing to the successful delivery of the team’s mission
  • The customer’s biggest fan – You demonstrate a thirst for better understanding the customer and define the problem and develop solutions through their eyes
  • Comfortable being uncomfortable – You are comfortable with uncertainty and have the ability to effectively manage yourself through ambiguity and change
  • Continuous improvement junkie – You constructively challenge the status quo, look for better ways to do things and passionately advocate continuous improvement
  • Committed to your own and other’s growth – You strive to stretch and grow yourself and others by identifying your own development areas, seeking feedback and providing feedback to others to help them learn and grow everyday
  • A problem solver – You are energised by tackling complex problems and use critical thinking, your network, skills, knowledge, and available data to drive better outcomes for our customers and the bank
  • Risk savvy – You build sustainable solutions that protect customers, stakeholders and the community

What you bring to the role
