About the opportunity

Based in the Hunter and supporting a remote team across the Region, an exciting opportunity exists for a Team Leader to join Uniting Home and Community Care on a full-time, 18 month contract with a view to a permanent role.

In this role, you will be supported by an efficient and dynamic team to provide guidance and one on one coaching to your team of qualified and compassionate Home & Community Care Support Workers across a large geographic area.

You’ll work across our office locations in Singleton, Port Stephens and Lake Macquarie – and more importantly you’ll be out on the road supporting and checking in with your team.

Key responsibilities include;

  • Motivating, mentoring and coaching a team of Support Workers that provide services to aged care clients in their own home
  • Monitoring the standards of service provided so that staff performance, training and mentoring requirements are adequately monitored and communicated, resulting in job satisfaction and retention of staff
  • Conducting service satisfaction audits in the client homes whilst maintaining the support worker’s confidence
  • Being a strong, effective and creative part of a team of compassionate and inspiring Uniting employees

 

Essential Qualifications

  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Current Australian Drivers Licence with access to a fully comprehensive insured vehicle
  • Certificate IV in Home and Community Care, Aged Care, Community Services or equivalent qualification OR working towards
  • Desire to continue to learn and grow

Desirable Qualifications

  •  Certificate IV in training and assessment
  • Certificate IV in Frontline Management (or equivalent)
  • Experience in leading teams – face to face or remote
  • Experience or knowledge of Care Coordination
  • Experience or knowledge of Allied Health or Community Aged Care Services
