About the Role
Working as a Disability Support Worker in Queanbeyan, you will be providing support to our clients by assisting them to live independently and achieve their goals day to day in a Supported Independent Living environment.

We are looking for an individual who has experience supporting, empowering and engaging with clients who display challenging behaviours. You will have confidence handling personal care, medication and a positive can-do attitude. The successful candidate will be flexibly available for shifts across a 24/7 roster; this includes sleepovers and weekends.

This is a Part Time opportunity offering a minimum of 50 hours per fortnight.


Key Responsibilities

• Follow individual support plans, behaviour support plans and health care plans
• Participate in community activities within a Supported Independent Living environment
• Maintain and monitor a client’s person-centred support plan
• Identify and support a range of learning opportunities for our clients
• Track and document an individual’s progress through thorough note keeping

Skills & Experience

• An unrestricted Australian Driver’s Licence
• Willingness to obtain a Certificate III in Disability, Individual Support (or similar)
• A current First Aid Certificate
• The ability to work flexibly around a 24/7 roster, including active night shifts
• Demonstrated commitment to supporting and engaging with complex needs including managing and monitoring complex behaviours in clients
• Strong communication skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check, NSW Working with Children Check and National NDIS Workers Screening Check.
