About the opportunity

 

Uniting is seeking a Full-Time Community Support Consultant to work on a fixed term basis until May 2022 with our collaborative team at our Campbelltown office.

The Community Support Service is a new and innovative program developed by icare (Insurance & Care NSW) and Uniting to provide support pathways for injured workers who might be facing a cessation or reduction to their payments or otherwise have additional goals and support needs outside of the scope of their Insurance Agent Case Manager.

 

The Service is designed to assist people to identify goals and develop a plan to achieve them, and to connect people to their local communities and support networks. The Community Consultant supports workers to increase their confidence by assisting them to develop goals and plans for the future. The role has the scope to change peoples’ lives.

 

Skills & Experience

  • Qualified in human/community services, with experience in casework or similar
  • Strong communication and networking skills
  • Driven by values relating to human rights and person-centred approaches
  • Understanding of social inclusion and community development principles
