About the College and role
RMITs College of Vocational Education is to empower learners and our industry, community and government partners to succeed in the new world of work. Our five-year strategic roadmap aims to position RMIT as a leading multi-sector provider with global impact and influence.
The Language, Literacy & Numeracy (LLN) Practitioners will be required to work directly with students and employ specialist LLN strategies and develop appropriate learning activities to support students to meet learning outcomes. Practitioners will work collaboratively in a team-teaching situation with vocational Trades teachers when providing specialist support to students with LLN needs. The incumbent will use their strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills to engage students and work effectively with vocational teachers, influencing classroom practice where appropriate. You will have a proven track record supplying LLN support in an education background with a strong understanding of the VE sector and a demonstrated understanding of specialist LLN teaching methodologies.
About you
You will bring to the role your highly developed interpersonal, written and oral communication skills in English and the ability to communicate effectively and maintain strong relationships with students and Trade partners to support the program's effective delivery. These skills will apply to teaching students with additional needs, adult learners, and diverse learner populations.
Essential to the role is your well-developed teaching skills and ability to apply teaching and assessment strategies appropriate to a diverse student population and competency standards. You will also have a proven track record in the design and delivery of up-to-date and engaging learning activities and the ability to motivate and guide students to optimise their learning outcomes.
Key to the role is your knowledge of the VET sector and training package requirements and significant experience working as a Teacher with high level LLN experts
