What we are looking for

A fantastic opportunity to join The Star Entertainment Group as a Group Sales Manager supporting the Head of Commercial Hospitality to sell our hotel, events and hospitality business across all segments. One of your key goals will be to drive room revenue maximising occupancy and yield opportunities generated from the hospitality business across our three properties: Sydney, Gold Coast and Brisbane. You will also focus on cash revenue generation for accommodation and/or business events, assessing profitability and the key market segments to drive cash revenue.

Key responsibilities in the role are but not limited to:

  • Assist the Head of Commercial Hospitality in the development and implementation of a Business Plan and new sales strategies with the intent to secure appropriate business for The Star Entertainment Group
  • Provide leadership with a focus on driving profitable revenue across hotels/events business
  • Develop a pipeline of offers to drive sales for hotel/business events
  • Provide leadership with a focus on Business Events/ Hotel sales to increase revenue based on reaching and exceeding budgeted targets
  • Provide strategic direction and a business plan outlining core objective for allocated markets and develop a sales action plan to ensure KPI’s are achieved
  • Develop strategies that will counter competitor promotional activities
  • Target activity and then measure own results to ensure progress is being made based on strategies set
  • Execute customer relationship building and retention activities
  • Develop programs and contract for Business Events/Hotels business
  • Champion a winning, solution-oriented work environment, motivating and engaging employees to continuously deliver the best possible service for our customers
  • Provide direction and support to the Group Sales Executive and Co-ordinators for an integrated system of employee relations and performances, while ensuring organisational objectives are prevalent in any new initiatives
  • Always maintain a customer focus, ensuring that customer service delivery is timely, effective and efficient and that it meets both the customer’s (internal and external) needs and corporate standards
  • Handle all queries and complaints with diplomacy and tact and refer all problems together with regular and informative feedback to the Head of Commercial Hospitality

 

 

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Extensive experience within the business events/hotels sector including established relationships with Professional Conference Organisers, corporate, association, government, incentive, industry decision makers
  • Extensive experience in selling principles and objectives and sales targeting
  • Tertiary and /or postgraduate qualifications in commercial or related field
