About the Role 
We are looking for a Community Rehabilitation Support Worker (CRSW) to join our Country Wellness Connect program providing support to clients accessing the service on Kangaroo Island on a part time basis (two days per week) until the end of June 2022. This position is required to deliver supports to people living on Kangaroo Island through visiting in person and providing phone support. 

The service is designed to provide ongoing support for clients who are ineligible to receive services under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). The Wellbeing program provides psychosocial support for clients with severe mental illness who may have an episodic rather than permanent psychosocial disability.

This role provides client-led, recovery?oriented mental health support to clients with severe, episodic mental illness. You will establish and deliver group wellbeing programs, as well as individual support, emphasising individual recovery needs and integration with clinical services. The CRSW provides a range of rehabilitation and support to consumers, tailored to meet their individual needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Planning and delivering psychosocial group programs to eligible participants
  • Providing short term, one-on-one psychosocial support services
  • Working with community partners and stakeholders to support client outcomes
  • Participating in the evaluation of the program in consultation with consumers
  • Collecting and maintaining data on the outcomes of group supports

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum Cert IV in Mental Health
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work with people from Diverse Cultural Backgrounds with specific reference to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
  • Demonstrated ability to positively engage, interact and work with people who have complex needs including psychosocial disability
  • Have a comprehensive knowledge of the issues faced by people with mental health issues
  • Have a comprehensive understanding of the Recovery Framework and the underlying principles
  • Current Drivers Licence and reliable vehicle.

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).
