Senior Controller - Liquidity Specialist

About The Role

Role Type: 6 month, fixed term contract

Global Markets Balance Sheet Trading (BST) is a Global Business Unit within the Institutional and Markets at ANZ. The Business Unit is responsible for holding high quality liquid assets which meet the requirements of the Group’s Liquidity Policy, manage the market risks associated with those HQLA holdings, and manage the interest rate risk in the banking book (Mismatch).

As a Liquidity Specialist you will be responsible for ensuring that the financial performance of the Global Markets trading business is accurately accounted for and reported. The Balance Sheet Trading Control team is responsible for the supervision of daily financial results, desk valuation and hedge adjustments such as hedge accounting and provisioning, and month-end financials analysis and reporting. 

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have the following:

• Accounting knowledge required, including classification and ideally the application of Hedge Accounting.
• Knowledge of financial instruments particularly fixed income product (Bonds, Bond Future, Interest Rate Swaps)
• Financial reporting experience in a financial markets environment
• Proficient written and oral communication skills, strong sense of numbers, attention to details
• Strong experience of using MS Excel required with some experience of MS Access preferred
• Proactive and “on-the-ball” ability as well as being flexible and responsive to change
