The purpose of the Scams Fraud Analyst role is to minimise the impact of Scams on ANZ and our customers through the identification of emerging trends and the development of detection rules.  Given the rapidly changing scams environment, this role requires the ability to think outside the box and challenge the status quo.  The Scams Fraud Analyst needs to be able to draw insight from data and communicate this to stakeholders in a way that is clear and informative.  A successful candidate would ideally have experience in fraud/scams detection and SQL/SAS coding.

 

This role is accountable for:

  • Day-to-day monitoring of scams activity to identify emerging/changing trends
  • Minimise ANZ exposure to scams by managing and developing detection system rules
  • Work collaboratively within Digital Fraud Analytics and the wider Customer Protection
  • Provide scams reporting and insights to senior stakeholders on regular and ad-hoc bases

 

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • Experience working in fraud/scams detection/analysis or digital security
  • Experience with analytical languages such as SQL, SAS, R Studio/Python, etc.
  • Strong customer focus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Banking product and industry knowledge
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and support quick decision making
