About The Role

Role Location: 839 Collins Street, Docklands VIC 3008

Role Type: Fixed-Term, Full-Time

The Capital Model Specialist will be responsible for assessing impact of MMLS capital threshold re-segmentation for the new mid-market models, including capital and provision models, through liaising with critical delivery teams supporting the mid-market lending simplification project (modelling, risk systems). This role will be accountable for identifying trends, risks and opportunities to enable timely action to enhance the wholesale portfolio management and processes and use data from customer and risk systems to help remediate credit risk processes.

Process wise, the Capital Model Specialist will serve as the subject matter expert in understanding Retail and Wholesale B&PB segments & customers, via various relevant data warehouses and databases. This role will work autonomously, maintain high standards of accuracy and work under pressure to achieve deadlines and produce high quality documentation on the results & technical solutions to ensure correct implementation.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • Quantitative degree in statistics, actuarial, econometrics, mathematics, operations research or related field.
  • Alternatively demonstrated extensive work experience in strategy development and analytics 
  • Able to work under tight schedules and consistently meet objectives.
  • SAS/Matlab/R/SQL programming and excel skills are essential.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills (PowerPoint, Word).
  • At least 3-year experience with credit risk management (retail or wholesale) or modelling. Good understanding of credit metrics is needed.
  • Problem solving skills and attention to detail.
