You’ll support the Technology Business Performance Portfolio (BPP) that sits in the Technology Business Management Domain.

BPP’s mission is to support the Technology business to outperform by facilitating clear target setting, effective portfolio management processes, and enabling actionable data-led insights.

This role sits in the Portfolio Management squad as much of your work will be for this squad, but you’ll help the BPP more generally.

The focus of this role is to help BPP provide customer focused products via strong UX and UI practices. In most cases your customers will include or be solely made up of Technology Executives.

Full list of responsibilities:

  • Own the BPP’s UX/UI standards for products and services and artefacts, including for:
    • Confluence pages
    • Reports
    • Dashboards
  • Create visual and process design artefacts
  • Provide quality assurance and coaching on UX and UI

What does “a day in the life” look like?

Your focus will be on helping the team stay super customer focussed and delivering great outcomes for our customers (who are internal) by helping us nail our user experience and the user interface of our various products and services.

You’ll be asked to join in with various initiatives and either manage or support the end to end discovery and/or design and/or build process of products and services. Your role in this work will always be focussed on UX and UI, and sometimes you’ll need to go outside of this.

In your conversations you will need to recommend, explain and apply UX and UI techniques. But this needs to go deep into application and not have too much of an academic feel to it. Your success will be measured by how much you have improved the user experience, not how much you ‘sound’ like a designer.

You’ll work at speed and minimise delays. You’ll nail deadlines unless you’ve agreed that more time can be allowed.

You’ll keep an eye on quality and efficiency, and work with the team every day to further fine-tune the service you provide to the team and its customers.

You’ll proactively become part of a (formal or informal) network of designers across ANZ so you’re bringing the greatest new ideas to the table.

What’s in your toolkit?

  • Success in improving the customer experience by applying UX, UI and other design principles to complex initiatives
  • Consistently reliable execution
  • Human Centred Design
  • Rapid iteration
  • Concepting - By ‘concepting’ we mean a creative and generative process that moves thinking from ideas, conversations and post-its into a coherent concept. While still a “rough draft”, concepts are accessible expressions of how a solution might take shape with enough clarity to communicate, test and critique them
  • Graphic design skills
  • User experience and user interface skills

You will also need to have exceptional written oral communication, active listening, and problem solving capabilities.
