We have an exciting opportunity available to join a newly established Design Squad in the Deposits Tribe. The Deposits Tribe are responsible for the end-to-end management of ANZ’s transaction and savings customers and products. Our mission is to help our customers achieve their goals by providing the right solutions when it comes to how they want to save, use and manage their money. You’ll be responsible for:

  • Creating impactful customer and staff experiences
  • Designing end-to-end, cross-channel, customer and staff experiences
  • Creating prototypes for a variety of contexts and mediums—customers and staff; digital, print, letters, branch, call centre; internal processes and ways of working— to test, learn and embed our customer and capability strategy
  • Managing the experience design process, from prototyping and detailed design and delivery
  • Co-running experiments to test hypotheses with customers and staff
  • Building an understanding of customer and staff experiments across the Squads
  • Deeply understanding, envisioning and solving for target customer and business impacts; collaborating with other Designers/Researchers, POs, Change, Data, Product, Support, Technology, Channels, Legal, Risk and Marketing to ensure frictionless solutions
  • Supporting the Service Design and Strategic Design Streams of work
  • Supporting Innovation and process improvement capabilities in squads
  • Supporting the iterative implementation of our future state solutions and processes in collaboration with Designers and Design Researchers
  • Helping embed a customer and capability strategy into the program
  • Helping develop, manage and embed a desirable, viable and feasible solutions roadmap into the program

Design at ANZ. This role be within the Design Squad and will be an active member of the Tribe’s design and research chapter, supporting the growth of design capability across the Tribe, and working with other designers to define and deliver the Deposits Design strategy. You’ll play an important role in shaping the culture, community and practice of design at ANZ, passionately backed by our CEO Shayne Elliott.

What will your day look like?

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Designing compelling, insight-based design solutions to customer and staff problems
  • Iteratively design customer experience solutions from low fidelity to high fidelity
  • Create prototypes to test and learn—integrating learnings back into the continuous improvement program
  • Managing stakeholder relationships
  • Delivering compelling visual and experiential narratives and impactful communication
  • Support workshop design and facilitation to enable effective information gathering, co-creation and solutioning activities – particularly for complex and nuanced segments (e.g. vulnerable customers)
  • As a member of the Design Squad, you will be collaborating closely other designers and researchers plus data analysts, change managers, scrum master and product managers to plan and execute research activities and transform the way we work

What will be in your toolkit?

  • You are a passionate Designer with solid experience in helping teams generate and deliver solutions problems
  • You have 5+ years of experience as an experience designer with a desire to grow your service design, proposition design and strategic design skills
  • You are well versed in digital design and prototyping tools such as Figma and have experience creating non-digital prototypes; have experience creating prototypes for generative and evaluative research; and know when to apply your detailed crafting skills or when a simple sketch will do
  • You are driven by a desire to create, deliver and make an impact
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop collaborative relationships and communicate effectively with others.
  • You are curious by nature and have an absolute passion for the customer (and you’re nice)
  • You thrive working in a very fast paced agile environment with short timelines and multiple deadlines.
  • You will be risk savvy and monitor and implement research governance and risk processes in line with best practice and ANZ policy.
  • Good project management skills and demonstrated ability to achieve the project brief requirements, within agreed budget and timeframes
  • Experience working in Agile environments
  • Good understanding of the Banking system and products, service, channels
  • Passionate about creating exceptional customer experiences
  • Ability to challenge yourself and the business on the value that will be delivered to customers
