About The Role

Role Location: 839 Collins Street, Docklands VIC 3008

Role Type: 12 Month Fixed Term

In this role, you will help establish and maintain a robust end to end record of data capture and data flow, which would originate from multiple in-system end user processes, that flows across multiple systems & databases, for the purposes of data reporting & visualisation. This is done by bringing technical expertise to capture end user’s data requirements and needs, mapping and modelling data throughout the multiple databases and systems / assets, which comprise of data sources and systems upstream and downstream of our new GRC system. Establishing and maintaining this view will help ANZ understand and form a view of the new end to end ‘landscape’ of data which all of ANZ will use to help manage compliance & operational risk.

You will be accountable for:

  • Discovering the source of, and validating data from a variety of sources (Oracle, Teradata, Big Data platforms, enterprise data assets, core mainframe systems, ServiceNow, external data sources) and combining this to form an accurate view of ‘our’ data.
  • Defining and conducting tests to validate that data and it’s constructs in various systems is fit for purpose
  • Performing analysis in order to support individual missions of squads/ BAU teams
  • Supporting key data platform and/or data scheduling jobs
  • Mapping and cataloguing data elements and data assets and addressing any data quality shortcomings
  • Ensuring that data is managed in compliance with internal policies and external regulations
  • Working in collaborative teams to explore business initiatives

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • Understanding of business & technical landscape at ANZ
  • Good knowledge of the business and the technical systems that support our business end users
  • Proficiency in developing tools or solutions in various applications or coding/scripting languages for analysis, data manipulation (e.g. SAS, SQL, Python, R, Tableau, QlikView / Qliksense, Kafka, Hive, Impala, PySpark, ServiceNow)
  • Strong data design skills and understanding of relational and reporting schemas and other database concepts
  • Able to define, plan and execute testing of data
  • Proven ability to work with large data sets
  • Ability to effectively communicate and present to all stakeholders (translate technical into non-technical and vice-versa)
  • Experience identifying, analysing and resolving data quality issues
  • Familiarity with data visualisation
  • Elicit business and solution requirements to translate customer needs & business goals
    • Ability to prepare for and conduct elicitation using a broad range of innovative elicitation practices, and techniques
    • Ability to verify, validate and communicate requirements with stakeholders
    • Ability to understand and document current and future state
  • Partner with multiple Product Owners to validate requirements and ensure alignment to value
  • Analytical Thinking skills and ability to adopt a functional decomposition approach to analysis elaboration
  • Communication & Facilitation Skills
    • Strong communication skills, both written and oral, to communicate business analysis outcomes
    • Ability to facilitate workshops with stakeholder groups
