About the role

Joining our Intensive Therapeutic Care Team, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of an Intensive Therapeutic Care Home. This is a permanent full-time role with flexible hours across 7 days a week.

This is a hands-on role with most of your time spent on site, in the home leading and mentoring a team of therapeutic support workers in providing trauma informed, therapeutic care and support to young people with complex trauma backgrounds.

You will strive to enhance the lives of young people, building resiliency skills and setting and achieving life goals through purposeful programming and ensuring a therapeutic, trauma informed approach within daily structure.

Key Responsibilities

As a House Manager in the LWB Intensive Therapeutic Care program you will have the opportunity to demonstrate your skills in:

  • Leading and coaching a team of Therapeutic Support Workers.
  • Providing trauma informed care and support to young people in care.
  • Managing the day to day activities of the young people to ensure they have purposeful planning occurring that supports their transition to independence
  • Managing the daily hygiene, resource allocation and budget for the household.
  • Preparing the rosters for the Therapeutic Support Workers
  • Engaging with the ITC Leadership team to work toward delivering quality trauma informed service to young people in out of care

Skills, Experience & Requirements

  • BachelorÂ’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health or similar
  • Candidates with a relevant diploma working towards a relevant bachelor level qualification with strong experience in managing people within the human services sector may be considered.
  • Previous management/leadership experience within the human services sector
  • An understanding of complex trauma experiences and its effects on children and young people in out of home care, including an understanding of pain-based behaviours.
  • Experience in the co-ordination of a 24-hour residential services for vulnerable people
  • Commitment to complete training in the core modules of our CARE Framework for Practice, Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) and GROWTH Leadership within the probationary period
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • An unrestricted NSW driverÂ’s licence

Please note: Mandatory COVID-19 vaccinations may be required for this position, in accordance with relevant Public Health Orders across all States and Territories. In these circumstances, evidence of vaccination will be required prior to an offer of employment.

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check.
