About the role

Join our Sydney Aboriginal team to develop and implement case plans for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people in Family Based care. You will work towards goals to achieve positive outcomes for children and young people. Permanent Full-Time opportunity based in Hurstville. You will be required to travel across Greater Sydney to manage the case load.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Develop and implement high quality case plans or individual plans for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people
  • Develop and maintain functional and supportive relationships with children and young people in family based care as well as their families in order to reach positive outcomes
  • Provide ongoing support and supervision to Foster Carers for children and young people in their care
  • Meet with clients and family members to gather input for case plans and ensure their views are represented
  • Participate in on call roster as required

Skills & Experience

  • Be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander decent
  • Desire to pursue a rewarding career in working with children and young people in family based care
  • Current NSW driver's licence

  • You will be required to provide contact details for a cultural referee who can comment on your knowledge of issues impacting on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities in contemporary society and your ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. The cultural referee must identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person.  
  • You may be requested to provide confirmation that you are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check.
