About the opportunity

You will lead a recently centralised team of workforce planning and rostering specialists, supporting our Disability and Mental Health services workforce of nearly 6,000.  Partnering with your peer Directors and engaging across the breadth of the Life Without Barriers organisation, including with the Executive team, your expertise will be actively called upon to influence strategic direction and critical operational change.

  • Embed a workforce planning framework and capability for current and future needs and for all business areas of Life Without Barriers and this includes processes, people and technologies.
  • Optimise the value of workforce planning through partnering across functions to ensure strong connection with client rosters of care needs and funding parameters. 
  • As a senior leader, bring your commercial acumen and analytical thinking to add insight and value to issues and opportunities which extend beyond workforce planning.
  • Courageously lead process, system and behaviour change to embed workforce planning capability across all areas.

What you will bring

  • Demonstrated experience in leading a workforce planning function that supports a multi-site and geographically dispersed workforce.
  • Deep understanding of the end-to-end workforce planning process including employee contractual and industrial requirements through to intersection of ‘time and attendance’ with payroll execution.
  • Skill in developing workforce optimisation metrics and leveraging metrics to drive behaviour/performance. 
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to coach and develop analytical skills across a team.
  • Strong project and change management experience including demonstrated ability in implementation of major systems/process change into operations (national or across dispersed teams).
  • Understanding of technology that supports workforce planning and strong track record of success in partnering with ICT functions in technology development and delivery.
