About the Role

Working within our Transitionary Aged Care Program (TACP) services in Bega and surrounding local areas, you will provide short-term specialised care and support to elderly people as they recover from hospital stays in their own homes.

You will assist clients in regaining their independence and confidence through the provision of personal care, domestic assistance, community transport and social support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Domestic assistance including vacuuming, dusting, changing bed linen and more
  • Personal Care such as toileting and showering assistance
  • Transportation within the community including medical appointments and social activities
  • Implement tasks and routines approved by a medical professional
  • Monitor a client’s health and behaviour changes, record keeping
  • Build rapport and develop positive relationships with elderly Australians 

Skills & Experience

  • A passion about making a positive impact in the lives of elderly Australian's
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships
  • A current First Aid Certificate and CPR Certification
  • Certificate III in Aged Care, Individual Support or similar will be highly regarded
  • An Australian Driver’s Licence and ownership of a registered and insured vehicle

Successful candidates will be required to undertake relevant pre-employment checks to ensure the safety of our clients. This includes a National Criminal History Record Check and meeting immunisation requirements as per our contract with NSW Health.  

We will discuss with and support you to meet these specified requirements as part of your recruitment and on boarding process.

To be considered for and appointed to a position at Life Without Barriers, you must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with a minimum of two (2) doses or hold a valid medical exemption certificate, in accordance with Life Without Barriers Employee COVID-19 Vaccination Policy. You will be required to provide evidence of your vaccination status during the recruitment process.
