Public Relations Manager

The Star Entertainment Group has an exciting opportunity for an autonomous Public Relations Manager to create a lasting impact in our organisation. If you are someone who has the aptitude to build strong relationships and possesses a deep understanding of the story elements required to secure press and create great content, then this role is for you!

This position offers you an opportunity on an 18-month fixed term contract to partner with various business units to understand their strategic goals and lead the creation and execution of PR initiatives. You will see yourself managing day to day PR efforts and direct public relations strategy and implementation, including agency management, external media interaction, press releases, and brand related positioning, as it relates to PR.

About your new role

  • Lead consumer PR activity across our Brisbane and Gold Coast properties.
  • Work across the Marketing organisation to develop PR programmes behind key initiatives not limited to major partnership activation, new outlet launches and key on property consumer campaigns.
  • Support the development of our consumer public relations strategy.
  • Ensure that key consumer PR messages are communicated in targeted and relevant publicity programmes to raise The Star brand profile.
  • Work collaboratively with The Star Entertainment Groups PR agency, commercial marketing team and key collaborators on significant projects.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Validated experience in a Public Relations Manager or Senior Consumer led PR role.
  • Intermediate to strong existing network and local media contacts is highly advantageous.
  • Experience within Agency, Events, Hospitality, or the Tourism sector will be immensely beneficial in this role.
  • Ability to maintain close relationships with Brand, Marketing & Creative on the development of external communications related to National marketing campaigns.
  • Bachelor of Business/PR/Media or related field.
  • Role is preferred to be based in Gold Coast, however the successful applicant must have capacity to travel to Brisbane.
