About the role

Working closely with the Head of Range Transformation, you will develop an effective Range and Space strategy that supports the Coles Liquor Group (CLG) priority to create a more local, relevant, better segmented range.

 

What you’ll be doing

You will develop strategic plans for optimising space allocation across the business including sales density and macro space blueprints for new store openings, renewals and replacement stores nationally. In doing so, you’ll engage with senior and cross functional business stakeholders on all aspects of range governance and effectiveness to ensure that initiatives are embedded in the business.

 

You’ll also:

  • lead, develop and engage the Range & Space team to deliver exceptional operational and strategic outcomes
  • ensure that the space and range plans reflect the individual brand and category strategies, as well as proposing creative solutions to improve assortment performance
  • create business cases and funding requests to pilot and trial new partners and initiatives before handing over to the project delivery teams
  • drive investment into the right tools and capability for space and range activity in Liquor, along with future proofing to enable easy ordering, auto replenishment and forecasting
  • continuous improvement of store macro space layouts and simplified range

 

Good things you’ll need

We’re looking for a commercially astute professional with demonstrated track record in a leadership role whereby you can demonstrate your ability to deliver effective space solution strategies in a complex retail business.

 

You’ll also have:

  • a commercial and strategic approach with strong understanding and experience of a Merchandise function
  • experience in leading strategic initiatives and driving business improvement outcomes
  • strong relationship management skills, project management skills and problem-solving skills
  • an ability to embrace change and be focussed on continuous improvement
  • analytical mindset with an ability to identify trends of poor performance and their operational causes and provide solutions to improve results
  • a natural ability to engage and influence at all levels, including senior business leaders to drive significant business outcomes coupled with strong communication skills #LI-BU
