About the Role

This is a challenging but rewarding opportunity for you to make a positive change in the lives of People with a Disability.

Working in a team, you will facilitate the delivery of quality services and achieve positive outcomes with clients in a positive and proactive environment. You will be actively supporting their individual needs and creating a safe environment. You will be responsible for some personal care, medication administration and to encourage the client to participate with household tasks. You will also be responsible for supporting and promoting their skills and abilities, implementing and monitoring their Individual Support Plan. 

You will be supported with the following;

  • You will be provided with training on the client’s approved restrictive practices and Positive Behaviour Support strategies by an NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner.
  • You will be provided additional training for any health needs of the client by an allied health professional.
  • You will attend regular training on client resolution and intervention strategies for working with clients with challenging behaviours.
  • You will have support from a Program Coordinator/House Manager during office hours and a staff emergency support line for afterhours emergencies during the hours of 1700 to 0830 and weekends.
  • You will be supported by a team of experienced disability support workers, dedicated to improving our client’s quality of life and engagement in the community.

Drivers Licence and own car are a must! 

Please note: In order to best support our clients, the successful incumbent for this position will be required to work some weekends and must be flexible with working arrangements. Availability for sleepover shifts is essential. The successful incumbent will have a reliable vehicle and will be required to support clients with transport. 

Key Requirements

  • Unrestricted Australian Drivers Licence – Essential
  • Own vehicle
  • Valid Yellow Card / NDIS Workers check or willingness to obtain one at your own cost – Essential
  • Experience with disability desirable but not essential 
  • Open availability
  • Can do attitude
  • Valid Working with Children’s Check (WWCC) or willingness to obtain at your own cost– Essential
  • Valid First Aid Certificate and CPR Certification or willing to obtain one at your own cost– Essential
  • Certificate III in Individual Support / Aged Care / Community Services or higher - Desirable
  • Passionate about delivering Person-Centred care
  • Proficient computer skills to be able to learn our systems and ensure quality documentation
