About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic academic to help build research capacity and a disciplinary research agenda and contributing to the leadership and delivery of Swinburne’s new Masters of Dietetics course. This role will provide you with an opportunity to enhance the University’s Dietetics profile, building professional and research partnerships both nationally and internationally.
Utilising your strong professional and academic background and networks, you will help build the research and professional placement capacity in the nutrition and dietetics discipline, leading a strand a key research for the discipline. In this role you will coordinate academic programs, convene and teach undergraduate and/or postgraduate units and contribute to the curriculum development of Dietetics units.
The appointment will be made at either Level C or D, commensurate to the successful applicant’s relevant experience, skills and qualifications.
About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
- Demonstrated national and international track record of publications and grants in nutrition and dietetics and a capacity to communicate research outcomes, and a demonstrated commitment to ongoing research activities within the field.
- Capacity to plan and conduct research within a broader overall team environment, to identify complementary expertise and initiate appropriate collaborations.
- Experience in tertiary teaching including a record of coordination, teaching and curriculum development in dietetics/nutrition.
- Ability to positively engage and communicate with industry partners and foster partnerships that build professional placement capacity.
Qualifications
- Recognised degree in dietetics (from an accredited Australian program or qualifications recognised by the Dietitians Association of Australia if overseas educated), and eligibility for credentialing via the Accredited Practising Dietitian program. The successful candidate will be required to be a full APD with the DAA for the duration of their appointment.
- Research qualification: Doctorate (PhD) degree appropriate to the discipline ie. nutrition, dietetics, food science
- Preferably, a tertiary teaching qualification or equivalent
