About the Role
We currently have two exciting opportunities for a Research Assistant and Project Officer to join the Swinburne Law School within the School of Business, Law and Entrepreneurship. You will contribute to multiple projects related to family and domestic violence. This will include:
  • Conducting research and preparing literature reviews
  • Assisting with data collection and analysis
  • Contributing to the write-up of research findings
  • Supporting project administration, including collaboration with external stakeholders and research partners

The two positions are 12-month contracts at 0.6FTE, but there is scope for a single appointment at 1.0 FTE.

About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
  • Demonstrated knowledge in the area of domestic or family violence in criminology, law, social work or cognate discipline/s
  • Experience in conducting desktop research related to family and/or sexual violence
  • Commitment to trauma-informed and child-centred practice and privileging the voices of lived experience through a lens of gender equality, intersectionality and Aboriginal self-determination
  • Exceptional time management skills with a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage varying workloads across multiple projects
  • Knowledge of children’s rights, family violence sector and/or working with survivors of family violence is highly desirable

Qualifications
  • Enrolment in or completion of postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline, and/or equivalent professional experience
