We are looking for an Assistant Manager to join our team at Flying Fish.  The ideal candidate will enjoy working collaboratively to create great restaurant experiences.  In this role, you will assist the Restaurant Manager to lead, inspire and guide a diverse team and manage Team Members and support their development, and overall success. You will be hands-on in your operational approach and be passionate about developing your career.  

Flying Fish is known for its exceptional seasonal and sophisticated seafood-driven menu, delivered to diners with expert service and flair along with stunning views of the Sydney city skyline with a capacity of 150 seats.

What will you do day to day?

  • Execute high levels of warm, uncompromising and bespoke customer service
  • Supervise, guide and hold staff accountable in the daily operations
  • Lead and motivate the team to continuously deliver a thrilling experience in line with The Star's service culture
  • Recruit, develop and train our team
  • Work with the Restaurant Manager to analyse financial performance by managing the stock, controlling costs, P&L, wages and other incidentals

Do you have what it takes? 

  • Extensive restaurant management experience in a high-volume, dynamic venue is highly regarded
  • Strong product knowledge including wine and spirits, Seafood knowledge is advantageous
  • Confidence to lead a large and diverse team of Team Members
  • Flexibility to work on a rotating roster that can include weekends, evenings and public holidays
  • Responsible Service of Alcohol NSW
