About the Role
We are looking for an innovative Learning Experience (LX) Designer to join the Learning Transformations Unit (LTU) to facilitate the institution wide roll-out of blended learning to support the digital transformation of learning and teaching at Swinburne.
Reporting to the Learning Experience (LX) Manager, you will join a team of LX Designers who work with unit conveners and teaching teams across the University to support the development of new approaches to learning, teaching and assessment. The LX team will provide practical assistance focused on the design, development and evaluation of blended learning and learning technologies.
You will work across both pedagogy and technology to support academic staff in ensuring an engaging and effective student learning experience aligned with Swinburne’s Strategic Horizon 2025 Plan. You will liaise extensively with teaching and professional staff in a range of areas across the University, and will exercise considerable judgement, initiative, discretion and independence while interacting with stakeholders.
About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
- Demonstrated commitment to, and experience in, innovative approaches to developing units and courses for blended learning.
- Foundational knowledge in learning and teaching, to enable transformation to blended experiences/designs.
- Demonstrated experience in delivering professional learning workshops.
- Demonstrated knowledge of learning technology delivery platforms and learning management systems.
- Demonstrated knowledge of accessibility standards for learning and teaching.
- Experience applying continuous improvement and quality management frameworks is highly desirable.
Qualifications
- Relevant degree with at least 4 years’ subsequent experience in the areas of learning design and/or learning technology or; an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
