About the Role

As a casual Disability Support Worker, you will be providing person-centred active support to people living with disabilities in the Shire. The assistance required will depend on the client, however, experience and confidence with personal care and manual handling will be highly regarded. Due to the nature of these services, you will be required to work flexibly across a 24/7 roster and pick up a range of short and long-hour shifts.  

Key Responsibilities

• Support clients with daily personal care such as bathing, shaving and toileting
• Provide mobility assistance by lifting, transferring and hoisting clients
• Follow person-centred active support plans and behaviour support plans respectfully
• Help clients reach their goals through meaningful activities of their choice
• Track and document the changing needs of clients through thorough record-keeping
• Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, their families and your team
• Advocate for client choice and control in a way that is safe and compliant

Skills & Experience

• An unrestricted New South Wales driver’s licence
• Committed to work flexible work hours across the week, including public holidays
• Demonstrated ability to use basic technology and software on a mobile and desktop
• A current First Aid Certificate, which includes the course HLTAID003 or HLTAID011

Successful candidates will be required to clear all state-based probity checks; including but not limited to a National Criminal History Record Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
