In this newly created role, you will be reporting directly to The Star Sydney’s CEO and Group Head of Transformation. Your experience in business management, combined with an understanding of both the corporate and operational functions of our enterprise, will enable you to provide specialised integrated strategic assessment and guidance.

You will focus on the design implementation of business management practices and operating rhythms, supporting the Group Transformation and Star Sydney team in effectively leading the business strategically and operationally. The ability to develop, grow and leverage on your relationships with key stakeholders will be critical in achieving team and business goals.

Additionally, the role will require high attention to detail and comfort in preparing materials, such as presentations, speaking notes and strategy papers, to be delivered at the Board and CEO level.

Key priorities include:

  • Ensure appropriate governance for decision making across Group Transformation and Star Sydney and oversight for reporting to the Board, the CEO and various committees and forums
  • Manage the agenda, materials & meetings for the Group Transformation and Star Sydney to deliver an aligned approach for agreed initiatives and strategic priorities
  • Manage the maintenance of the document repository for all artefacts pertaining to the corporate governance of the CEO Office to ensure adherence to risk accountabilities
  • Embed a culture of operational excellence and maximise efficiency by designing appropriate content, frequency and agenda for meetings, strategy forums, leadership events and off-sites, and team member engagement in partnership with relevant support partners

About you

Our ideal candidate will consistently demonstrate The Star’s Leadership Capabilities with regards to leading change, inspiring others and creating impact, along with the following criteria:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or relevant experience
  • Strong corporate governance expertise and experience preparing agendas, papers, minutes, run sheets and materials to run effective forums
  • Well-developed communication skills including exceptional business writing skills
  • Strong detail orientation with demonstrated strategic and commercial judgement
  • Strong business acumen and a good understanding of the Group and its functions (or the ability to quickly develop that understanding) or previous experience working in large and complex matrix organisation
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and drive change and delivery through mobilising others
  • Experience in engaging and building credibility and strong relationships with stakeholders across all levels
  • Appropriate knowledge of governance requirements and obligations, relevant to The Star Entertainment Group
  • Managerial and project management experience
