About the Role 

We have an exciting, fixed term opportunity for a Senior Network Engineer. You will be responsible for the provision of high-level engineering support for the University's cloud, local and wide area network infrastructure as well as the University's Wireless and Voice over IP infrastructure. 

In this role you will be responsible for the installation, configuration and management of network equipment and will be required to analyse and diagnose complex network problems to ensure the integrity and the performance of the network infrastructure is maintained. You will regularly support complex networking-based projects and ensure that they are delivered on time. 

The role performs an important technical role within the Information Technology Infrastructure Group and is expected to provide strong technical skills and a commitment to customer service. You will be able to evaluate new and emerging network technologies and assist in the planning and design of the University's network infrastructure.

 
About You  
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities: 

·      Substantial experience in the design and management of large multi-site computer networks comprising over 5000 nodes.

·       Substantial experience with the installation, configuration and ongoing maintenance and upgrading of Cisco network routers, switches, and other network hardware. 

·       Substantial experience in the configuration and operation of Cisco IOS, NX-OS. 

·       Experience in the design, deployment and management Azure network infrastructure.

·       Experience in the design, deployment and management of enterprise multi-site wireless networks.

 
Qualifications
·       Postgraduate qualifications in information technology, information systems and extensive relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.

·       Related industry certification (CCNP, CCIE), and/or equivalent experience.
