Join our team as the next Asset Protection Planning Manager at The Star Brisbane.
Our breathtaking resort, positioned at the heart of the new Queens Wharf Brisbane precinct, will commence a staged opening in 2024, bringing a range of unique entertainment options, world class hotels, dining, bars, luxury retail, gaming, and a state-of-the-art Event Centre to the river city.
Reporting directly to the Director of Asset Protection, the Asset Protection Planning Manager will play an instrumental leadership role that is responsible for overseeing and optimising labour requirements and costs, especially during large scale events. This position will also uphold our commitment to delivering exceptional customer service in alignment with our Star values and business objectives.
A few of your key responsibilities:
Develop and manage the department's business plan, including budget and resource requirements, while ensuring compliance with operating margins
Create and oversee rosters for the Asset Protection department, adhering to enterprise agreements, budgetary requirements, and policies
Analyse operational needs, recommend cost-saving measures, aligned with company and divisional goals
Implement security measures to reduce incidents of theft, disorderly conduct, and eliminate the risk of any form of unlawful activity
Monitor labour costs, justify additional expenses, and liaise with finance for budget analysis, ensuring compliance and cost control
What we will be looking for:
Previous experience with workforce planning including controlling labour and operating costs
Demonstrated experience in a Security Leadership position
Security License coupled with a Certificate 4 in Risk Management
Current Senior First Aid Certificate
Strong understanding of laws and regulations as they relate to our business
About you:
In addition to your qualifications and skills, we're seeking a candidate with considerable leadership experience within the security industry. Ideally, youll have prior experience in a Casino or similar environment and hold a deep understanding of relevant laws, particularly the Casino Control Act and its regulations, along with expertise in the QLD Liquor Act, Security Industry Act, and Crimes Act, ensuring company compliance. You will possess the aptitude for departmental planning, encompassing resource allocation for all on-property events, and the implementation of performance management strategies to support our team's success.
