About the Role

As a Home Care Worker, you will provide personalised home care support to elderly Australians accessing our Aged Care support services within Canberra. You will empower elderly Australians to maintain their independence by supporting them to continue living in their own homes.

You will likely support more than one candidate each day, so having a valid Australian Drivers Licence to travel between clients and assist them with community access is a requirement of this role. We have Permanent Part Time and Casual roles available, with shifts occurring between 7am to 6pm Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities

• Domestic assistance such as meal preparation and light house cleaning
• Personal Care including grooming and showering
• Community access to medical appointments and social activities
• Supporting with tasks and routines
• Build positive relationships with clients

Skills & Experience

• Passionate about making a positive impact in our ageing community
• An Australian Driver’s Licence and ownership of a registered vehicle
• Willingness to travel between clients homes
• Strong communication skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships
• A current First Aid and CPR Certificate (must be obtained prior to employment)

Successful candidates will be required to undertake relevant pre-employment checks to ensure the safety of our clients. This includes a National Criminal History Record Check. We will discuss with and support you to meet these specified requirements as part of your recruitment and on boarding process if successful.

To be considered for and appointed to a position at Life Without Barriers, you must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with a minimum of two (2) doses or hold a valid medical exemption certificate, in accordance with Life Without Barriers Employee COVID-19 Vaccination Policy. You will be required to provide evidence of your vaccination status during the recruitment process.
