About the Role

Roster our frontline in-home and community aged care workforce by utilising rostering and scheduling systems and communicating with the people we support in regard to their services to understand and meet their needs and requirements while promoting a sustainable workforce.

The successful candidate will contribute to and support the transition of the home care rostering system from one platform to another and will have previous experience in rostering or scheduling for in-home aged care, lifestyle supports or similar within the community services sector and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.

This is a 6-month maximum term full-time position, which can be based in any of our local offices nationally with hybrid work from home arrangements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain staffing rosters in accordance with client needs, service agreements, budgets and award requirements
  • Respond to ad-hoc roster change requests, ensuring amendments are recorded are clearly communicated to stakeholders
  • Proactive responses to problem solve in a reactive scheduling environment to ensure efficient non-disruptive schedule modifications
  • Ensure staff availability patterns are recorded and kept up to date
  • Escalate rostering and staff skill gaps, and work with line managers to identify solutions
  • Build positive relationships through engagement with stakeholders
  • Comply with all Life Without Barriers policy, code of conduct, procedures and practices, external funding body requirements and legislation.

Skills & Experience  

  • Prior experience with in-home aged care, community care and/or lifestyle support rostering
  • Ability to prioritise high volume workload and meet deadlines
  • Understanding of workforce management principles, HSE and relevant industrial award conditions
  • Highly developed interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work cohesively within a team environment and with autonomy both remotely and in person

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check, NDIS Working screening check & Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).

To be considered for and appointed to a position at Life Without Barriers, you must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with a minimum of two (2) doses or hold a valid medical exemption certificate, in accordance with Life Without Barriers Employee COVID-19 Vaccination Policy. You will be required to provide evidence of your vaccination status during the recruitment process.
