Join our team as the Events Coordinator at The Star Brisbane.

Our breathtaking resort, positioned at the heart of the new Queen’s Wharf Brisbane precinct, will commence a staged opening in 2024, bringing a range of unique entertainment options, world class hotels, dining, bars, luxury retail, gaming and a state-of-the-art Event Centre to the river city.

The Events Coordinator role reports directly to the Events Planning Manager and offers an extraordinary opportunity to plan, coordinate and retain conferences. This role will see you responsible for maintaining high levels of customer service and attention to detail whilst assisting the department with administrational duties for some world class events in Brisbane’s largest Event Centre.

This is a fantastic opportunity where you can put your skills and knowledge to the test to deliver a thrilling new era for events.

A few of your responsibilities:

  • Represent The Star Brisbane at functions and events in a professional and courteous manner
  • Build strong relationships with internal team members as well as any external stakeholder you work with
  • Make recommendations to clients with the selection of menus, theming, AV & IT support and customise where required
  • Assist Senior Event Planner with weekly and monthly reporting
  • Assist department with administrational duties and ordering of stationary supplies
  • Work closely with the Sales team to retain Star clients 

What we will be looking for

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Thorough knowledge of the Opera Sales & Catering Systems in conjunction with Opera Advanced Reporting and CAD programme desirable
  • Previous experience within the industry
  • Ability in developing cross departmental relationships

About us
