About the Role 
The Senior Project Manager, reporting to the Associate Director, Project Delivery, will oversee a complex set of projects involving the design, construction, and delivery of cutting-edge teaching and research facilities across three campuses. This role involves establishing, coordinating, and leading project teams comprised of various professionals such as learning designers, multimedia designers, learning and teaching specialists, researchers, and external consultants. The Senior Project Manager will also lead co-design groups, collaborate with project stakeholders and industry consultants to analyze needs, and ensure the delivery of key project benefits in alignment with Swinburne’s project management frameworks.

Operating with significant autonomy within the University’s policy framework, the Senior Project Manager will be responsible for building and managing key internal and external relationships and resources. This role plays a crucial part in shaping the University’s work environment and culture, requiring high levels of integrity, commitment, analysis, and judgement. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a substantial impact on the development and delivery of state-of-the-art facilities that support Swinburne’s mission of excellence in teaching and research.

About You  
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities: 

  • Relevant professional background and extensive experience in project development and delivery in refit, refurbishment and construction projects
  • Demonstrated project management skills, with a capacity to scope realistic projects, meet timeframes and deliver outcomes
  • Ability to manage the realisation of project and/or program benefits and outcomes through implementation and delivery phases
  • Proven experience in coordinating senior executive reporting and supporting effective project and portfolio prioritisation processes 

Qualifications
  • Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant discipline and extensive relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
