About the Role

Reporting to the Finance Transactions Service Manager you will assist with driving change, projects, process improvements and implementing best practice across the Finance Transactions Services group. The role will focus on enhancing continuous control monitoring across the FTS functions but particularly in relation to accounts payable payments / invoices, investigate historical issues found when CCM implemented and establish processes for ongoing continuous monitoring using IDEA tool. You will support and lead various projects and initiatives of Life Without Barriers and provide subject matter expertise on all matters relating to Finance Transactions including legislation and compliance, systems and system integrations and best business practice as they relate to finance transactions.

The Senior Shared Services Finance Officer is a key member of the Shared Service team who works closely with key internal stakeholders and teams to ensure we comply with organisational finance-related policies and procedures.

This is a permanent full time role, location flexible. This role offers the flexibility to work from your preferred location, whether that is your home or our LWB offices. There will be occasions when you will be expected to work from the office. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish continuous control monitoring within the Finance Transactional Services Group and establish processes for ongoing continuous monitoring using IDEA tool.
  • Drive change and process improvements across all finance transactions related initiatives
  • Assist in managing projects relating to finance transactions services
  • Develop test scripts including, milestone and expected results to ensure all interactions of the test scenarios are taken into consideration
  • Manage functional issues through to completion within agreed timeframes
  • Execute testing and validate outcomes, work through testing errors with stakeholders to rectify either through system configuration changes or process improvement changes
  • Support Finance Transactions Services to achieve the business plan outcomes and other organisational programs and initiatives
  • Monitor, coach, support, motivate and develop team members to enable them to deliver to the best of their ability.
  • Play a lead role in the creation, documentation and maintenance of user guides and other training manuals 
  • Develop and maintain industry and organisational knowledge of matters relating to Finance Transactions best practice including all relevant legislation
  • Work with the Shared Services team to ensure the finance transactions knowledge, skills and experience aligns with services provided by the broader Shared Services team
  • Lead the development of systems that enable cross skilling and efficient utilisation
  • Ensure all financial, statutory and taxation requirements are met
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, yearly and other periodic accounting reconciliations process
  • Assist in developing effective process within finance transactional services
  • Establish and undertake compliance protocols to ensure accurate information
  • Analyse finance transactional processes/transactions to identify variations to established processes, recommend improvement and implement approved actions
  • Develop, implement and monitor Finance Transactional Services service level agreements
  • Actively contribute to managing change and support the implementation of organisational projects, strategies and initiatives

Skills & Experience 

  • Degree level qualifications in Business, Accounting or similar, or demonstrated equivalent experience a high volume, dynamic environment
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role
  • Experience in engaging business users to understand issues and capture business requirements
  • Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting issues quickly and identifying and analysing solutions in a timely manner
  • Demonstrated experience in managing competing priorities and to deliver outcomes within agreed timeframes and quality standards
  • Understanding of project and change management principles and tools
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills and ability to consider strategic implications of decisions and actions.
  • Demonstrated influencing skills with the ability to build relationships and to implement change, work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders including managers, peers, employees, external organisations and service providers.
  • High level communication, interpersonal and presentation skills with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Intermediate Excel skills and experience using a computerised accounting system
  • Demonstrated experience in procurement to pay functions such as accounts payable or procurement within a high volume, dynamic environment would be highly regarded
  • Experience in virtual workforce implementation such as RPA, machine learning and automation tools would be highly regarded
  • Experience with governance, documentation frameworks and protocols relating to automation tools, including developing user documentation, processes and procedures, testing and training would be highly regarded
  • Demonstrated experience using a variety of tools and programs including Microsoft Forms, Power Automate and Power BI would be highly regarded

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).
