About the role
Working as part of ITS UniOps stream, the Manager Server Platforms is responsible for managing a team of technical staff responsible for a large range of database, Midrange platforms and Windows Servers, including responsibility for resourcing and effective financial management of the Platforms.
In the role you will be accountable for monitoring critical server and database operations, prioritising and delivering enhancements, as well as driving continuous operational improvement to uplift capability for the business to enhance the student learning experience.
You will also use your strong technical understanding in windows, midrange & database platforms to develop future-focussed capability across the team and providing thought leadership and input into the strategic and operational direction of database and server capabilities, contributing to the evolution and implementation of the IT Strategic Plan.
About you
You will showcase strong Technical knowlege and team leadership of a Server Team in an Enterprise sized environment, including building, managing and developing a team of experienced technical staff, prioritising work effectively to meet demand.
Possess well-developed organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines, planning team activities to meet goals and to be able to make concise, rational decisions.
Strong Financial Management skills having managed an operational budget to agreed KPIs and experience in reporting on services, measured against agreed service level targets, liaising with senior management to provide continuous service improvements. Proven ability to negotiate with and influence a wide range of stakeholders.
