The RMIT Skills & Jobs Centre

The RMIT Skills and Jobs Centre is a state government funded service that sits under the College of VE at RMIT. The Skills and Jobs Centre runs two career services, one aimed at graduating RMIT VE students and the other aimed at the Victorian public who are seeking assistance with employment and education options. Clientele range from existing students, long term unemployed, job seekers, new migrants, retrenched workers and Apprentices.

The Role: 

RMIT Skills and Jobs Centre are seeking expressions of interest from marketing professionals, ideally with a marketing background within the vocational education and or community services sector. You will be responsible for improving the brand awareness of the Skills and Jobs Centre & VE Career service amongst students and community stakeholders.

This is a part time casual role, paying at Hew 4 ($42.33 per hour).

Your Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop and post content on our marketing media platforms such as FB / Instagram / LinkedIn etc to help drive more awareness about RMIT Skills and Jobs Centre (SAJC) services 
  • Continue writing, sourcing and designing content for our SAJC fortnightly newsletter through Mailchimp. 
  • Look for new markets we could advertise to, to attract more SAJC clients (use our service delivery framework to identify our priority cohorts) 
  • Work with RMIT student recruitment to help extend our reach internally (tapping more into prospective student space) 
  • Create and send internal email campaigns & Yammer posts marketing both the Skills and Jobs Centre and VE services
  • Create flyers for workshops / vacancy lists etc
  • Assist with workbooks / ads / scheduling of events
  • Advertise our job board to relevant cohorts 
  • Assist with the marketing efforts of the SAJC network and help them with its development and implementation (as required).  
  • Assist with creating visually appealing reports and surveys as required.
  • Ensure communications adhere to RMIT University and Skills and Jobs Centre-wide communication planning and frameworks, and work closely with central communications teams to guarantee alignment and impact
  • Provide administrative and design support to assist team members with day-to-day operations. 

 

About you:

  • Formal qualifications in media, communications, editorial or similar fields
  • Search engine optimisation knowledge
  • Web design experience
  • Graphic design / Canva knowledge
  • Mailchimp Knowledge
  • Stakeholder management skills and the ability to collaborate with various teams
  • Knowledge of social media function, including content creation, moderation and customer engagement across Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.

You will be available to start immediately or no later than 23rd March 2021
