Prepare oral and written presentations for internal and external audiences that clearly articulate project aims, research methods and outcomes effecting the service delivery of the CCC.

About the Job
The Centre for Forensic Behavioural Science has entered into an agreement with Court Services Victoria (Children’s Court Clinic) to engage a postdoctoral research fellow to enhance the capacity of the Clinic to undertake research relevant to its operations. The Children’s Court Clinic (CCC) is an independent organisation that is operated by Court Services Victoria which conducts psychological and psychiatric assessments of children and families for the Children’s Court of Victoria. In some cases, limited treatment is also provided. The reports provided by the CCC are used to assist magistrates in making decisions in both Family Division and Criminal Division cases in the Children’s Court of Victoria.

The CCC is led by a Director, a senior clinical and forensic psychologist, who reports to the Chief Executive Officer of the Children’s Court, with oversight provided by the President of the Children’s Court of Victoria. Part of the mandate of the Children’s Court Clinic is to evaluate the services provided and to have an active research engagement.

In your role, you will support the service delivery of the CCC through ongoing evaluation and knowledge creation. Priority areas of focus will include:
(a) Validation and refinement of risk assessment protocols and guidelines to enhance the authoritative advice provided to the CCC by clinicians.
(b) Improved understanding of targets for effective preventative and secondary intervention for children with early onset offending.
(c) Elements of valid and effective telehealth approaches for conducting CCC assessments and delivering interventions.
(d) Contribution to planning regarding the development of a CCC database
Additionally, you will prepare oral and written presentations for internal and external audiences that clearly articulate project aims, research methods and outcomes.
