About The Role

Role Location: Melbourne

Role Type: Permanent, Full time

You will lead a newly formed team who will develop an over-all approach on the assessment of Risk Culture maturity of ANZ. You will be expected to implement and oversee the approach to the measurement, assessment, and monitoring of risk culture maturity across ANZ.

The key outcomes are:

1) The assessment and reporting of risk culture maturity benchmarked against the Board approved target risk culture

2) Continuous monitoring of risk culture plans and the effectiveness of actions taken to embed the target risk culture

3) Building a strong awareness and understanding of risk culture across ANZ

4) Providing an informed second line opinion of risk culture maturity

5) Supporting the development of tools and resources to embed the target risk culture and

6) Building strong and effective relationships with senior stakeholders in Businesses, Functions, Internal Audit and particularly those responsible for organisational culture

The Risk Culture team will own the risk culture framework, including enterprise governance and reporting for ANZ.

Your key priorities and responsibilities include:

  • Develop and oversee the implementation of the risk culture assessment framework (measurement, monitoring and reporting)
  • Lead the cascading of the target risk culture with proactive collaboration with Talent and Culture, Businesses and Functions and Internal Audit.
  • Lead the process for operationalising risk culture assessment
  • Independent review the effectiveness of risk culture plans and actions by Businesses and Functions to drive change in risk culture. Support the development of tools and resources
  • Through exceptional communication skills have continuous engaging conversations across the bank to influence and improve how risk culture is understood, assessed and embedded. 
  • Leverage research on best practice in risk culture assessment and emerging themes across the industry to drive the risk culture agenda across the bank.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with all stakeholders, including regulators

About You

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • Deep understanding of risk culture and its key drivers. Able to evidence technical and practical experience in both risk management and behavioural science related fields
  • Tertiary qualified, with extensive experience across Financial Services, risk management or behavioural science
  • Proven ability to develop organisational strategy and its evidence success in its execution across a complex organisation
  • Experience in leading, assessing and reporting cultural change and the effectiveness of transformation activities
  • Financial services knowledge gained in a large organisation with an understanding of both financial and non-financial risks.
  • Outstanding communication and influencing skills with a proven ability to build and maintain relationships with senior internal and external Regulators/stakeholders. Has the ability to manage priorities and conflicting issues in a professional/risk based manner
