Help launch and grow the VH2 precinct as a nationally recognised centre of hydrogen development excellence.
About the Job
An exciting opportunity has become available to work closely with Swinburne University and CSIRO in the delivery of this exciting initiative. As our new Victorian Hydrogen Hub (VH2) Director, you will develop and implement a strategy to build on the current foundational funding, to develop a pipeline of national and international opportunities leading to sustainable funding for the Victorian Hydrogen Hub (VH2) beyond 2022. Your primary objective will be to ensure successful delivery of the VH2 program by engaging, collaborating and building enduring partnerships between research, industry, and government to support the development of a hydrogen sector in Victoria and nationally.
Reporting to the Director, Strategic Government Programs in Swinburne Research and Enterprise, you will work closely with senior colleagues including the Director – Manufacturing Futures Institute and other senior Swinburne staff to launch, operationalise and grow the VH2 precinct as a nationally recognised centre of hydrogen development excellence. This will encompass working closely with our partners CSIRO and ARENA2036, Germany, to set in motion the initial programs and activities funded by the Victorian Government under the Victorian Higher Education Strategic Investment Fund (VHESIF).
In your role, you will be a consummate networker, capable of understanding complex ecosystems and how to make connections and turn these into opportunities for VH2 and its growth. You will possess an adept understanding of how to bring researchers and industry together to achieve common goals based on aligned expectations and how this feeds into the successful delivery of cultural outputs for industry participants.
A key aspect of VH2’s network will be links with the community. Adoption of any new energy source requires community acceptance and support. VH2 will be a key catalyst in engaging the community and letting them experience how hydrogen as a renewable and sustainable energy source will change lives. This underscores VH2’s role as not only a place where the community can experience and trial hydrogen in many different end uses but also where they can engage in events and discussion to help shape its future direction.
