About the Job
Reporting to the General Manager and Dean of Swinburne College, your role as Commercial Finance Manager will have responsibility for the review of all current methods of reporting, establishing a set of Swinburne College protocols and reporting procedures which will deliver accurate financial statements, forecasts and budgets, and provide interpretation and insights into variances to plan and the link to key drivers.
You will establish relationships with service providers within Swinburne University of Technology in order to provide relevant financial and non-financial data to all required Swinburne College stakeholders and the Swinburne College Board.
Further, you will work closely with the General Manager & Dean, Program Managers and Director of Studies (ELICOS) in developing and influencing financial plans and providing expert financial advice to build levels of financial and commercial acumen, help drive business performance and enhance quality of financial and commercial decisions within Swinburne College.

About you
To be successful in the role, you will have:
• Postgraduate qualifications with a major in accounting or similar discipline, and subsequent relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training - Membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (CAANZ) or Certified Practicing Accountant Australia (CPA)
• Significant experience in financial management and related activities, preferably in a large and complex organisation
• Strong knowledge and experience of budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting, delivering consistently accurate and clear information
• Demonstrated solid analytical acumen and the ability to interpret financial data and provide solutions to a range of commercial issues
