Disability Support Worker. Permanent Part Time or Casual - Derby, WA

About the role
This is a challenging but rewarding opportunity for you to make a positive change in the lives of People with a Disability and in Aged Care and we are expanding our services in Derby.

Working in a team, you will facilitate the delivery of quality services and achieve positive outcomes with service users in a positive and proactive environment. You will be actively supporting their individual needs and creating a safe environment.

These roles will require successful applicants to be available and willing to work within a 24/7 roster that includes regular shift work, including night shifts, weekends and public holidays.

Key Responsibilities:  

• Promote and assist Clients to achieve goals identified in Person Centred Plans
• Support in day to day living, promoting cooking, housekeeping, hygiene, shopping and other essential appointments 
• Assist Clients to develop independence 
• Utilise positive behaviour strategies
• Maintenance of progress notes and record keeping

Skills & Experience

• Minimum Certificate III in Individual Support/Aged Care - preferred
• Experience working with people with challenging behaviour and/or people with a disability or mental illness
• Ability to demonstrate interpersonal skills with Clients, families and stakeholders
• Demonstrate confidentiality and professional boundaries
• Competent computer skills to complete online training and administration tasks
• A current Senior First Aid Certificate (mandatory prior to commencement)
• A current unrestricted Driver Licence
• NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the position)
